Bernardino Rodríguez was born in Xalapa, Mexico in 1990. He is a graduate of the Master in Musical Arts at the Universität Mozarteum of Salzburg, Austria, where he studied in the class of Prof. Eliot Fisk.

He began learning the guitar with Prof. Karim Vázquez, after that, he continued studying in the Faculty of Music at the Universidad Veracruzana, with professors Cutberto Córdova and Álvaro Hernández. Subsequently, he studied at the “Jacopo Tomadini” Conservatory of Music in Udine, Italy, with Prof. Stefano Viola.

He has played in international and national music festivals. He has taken masterclasses with known professors. Especially important the courses with the Maestro Oscar Ghiglia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena, Italy, and with professors Paolo Pegroraro and Adriano del Sal at the Segovia Guitar Academy of Pordenone, Italy.

Rodríguez has played for international radio and television. He has been winner of several awards in international and national guitar competitions.

·      1st Prize at 15th International Guitar Competition of Culiacán, Mexico, 2022.

·      1st Prize of the III Concurso Internacional de Guitarra “Aquiles Valdez” 2017-UACJ, in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.

·      1st Prize of the 19º Festival y Concurso Internacional de Guitarra de Taxco 2016.

·      1st Prize of the XIV Concurso Internacional de Guitarra “Guitarra sin fronteras” 2016, in Chihuahua, Mexico.

·      1st Prize of the I Concurso Nacional de Guitarra “Ciudad de Cuernavaca”, Mexico, 2015.

·      1st Prize of the I Concurso Nacional de Guitarra EBAUABJO-Oaxaca, Mexico, 2015.

·      1st Prize of the IV Concurso Nacional de Guitarra “Premio Conservatorio Nacional de Música” in Mexico City, 2015.

·      1st Prize of the VIII Concurso Nacional de Guitarra “Ciudad de Colima”, Mexico, 2015.

·      1st Prize of the I Concorso Internazionale di Chitarra Classica “Città di Pordenone”, Italy, 2013.

·      1st Prize of the Concurso Nacional de Guitarra de Paracho 2011, in the Advanced category.

·      1st Prize of the Concurso Nacional de Guitarra de Paracho 2010, in the Intermediate category.

·      1st Prize of the IV Festival and International Competition “Boston Guitar Fest” 2009, in the youth category.

·     3rd Prize at XXIII Festival Internacional “Ciudad de Coria” 2019.

·      3rd Prize at 17th Annual Guitar Festival & Competiton of Dallas, Texas 2018.

·      3rd Prize of the IX Certamen Internacional de Guitarra “Norba Caesarina” 2014, in Cáceres, Spain.

He has been part of the National Guitar Orchestra “Alfonso Moreno” and the Orquesta de Guitarras de Xalapa, which he took part in several tours in Mexico. He has been beneficiary of the CONACULTA program, in the categories of Interpretation and Young Creators, as well as of the FONCA program, in the Performing Arts category.

He has played as soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes, Orquesta Filarmónica de Boca del Río, Orquesta Sinfónica de Campeche, Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil del Estado de Veracruz and Orquesta de Guitarras de Xalapa with conductors such as Miguel Salmón del Real, Jacob Tapia, Faustino Díaz, Rey Alejandro Conde, Consuelo Bolio, among others.

Currently, he is professor at the Universidad Autónoma "Benito Juárez" de Oaxaca, the Instituto Superior de Música del Estado de Veracruz and the Centro Mexicano de Postgrado en Música.

Rodríguez studies his PhD in Music at the Universidad Veracruzana and develops an intense concert activity.
